Every once and a while I come across someone who dares to try something different. Thats not to say this is 100% original because what is anymore. But I like whats happening in this track so check it out. Enjoy
Who says I can't post anything but techno? I'm really digging this duo to come out of Brooklin, New York, Sleigh Bells consists of Derek E. Miller (guitarist, songwriter, producer) and Alexis Krauss (vocals, my new wife). They released their debut album Treats in May this year which featured singles 'Tell Em' and this song:
Also today, another band with bells (Christmas must be getting to me), the Broken Bells are another duo from America featuring Brian Burton aka Danger Mouse, who was formerly mentioned on a previous DP post for his production of The Grey Album, a mashup of Jay Z's The Black Album and The Beatles self titled album (also known as The White Album). Burton teamed up with James Mercer, lead vocalist and guitarist from The Shins to release their first album in March 2010 and following it's success have announced they will record a follow up. Here's a song from their self titled album: The Ghost Inside - Broken Bells
Lastly, I have a track from a band out of Syracuse, New York called Ra Ra Riot. Their 2nd album 'The Orchard' released in August 2010 featured this song: Boy - Ra Ra Riot
One more, couldn't resist. Although this track isn't on the new album mentioned below it's sure to spread pretty fast. Already hot on the heels of the new album Zimmerman has already announced that he will be releasing another in 2011 which he has already started working on. This track will most likely be a part of said new album. Enjoy!
I don't really need an excuse to post more Deadmau5, but I have one! His new album is being released next week on Tuesday December 7th. Some of the album has already been released over the span of 2010 in singles such as 'Some Chords' (previously featured on DP) and 'Animal Rights' which featured a team up with Wolfgang Gartner. Here are two new tracks of the album which are sure to be released as singles. Also, if you're in Toronto over the holidays and want to see Deadmau5 live, he'll be playing at The Guvernment on Boxing Day Dec 26th, for reduced cover guestlist you can check out the event page on facebook and send Shaya an e-mail at Shaya007@gmail.com
Update: Event Page has been shut down and guestlist canceled. You now need to simply hack off an arm or a leg to get into the show
From Belfast, Ireland comes DJ Mog who broke out last year with his singles 'Searching' and 'Not For Long'. In 2010 he continues to increase his popularity with the release of his debut album 'Somewhere in Between' which features the following great single 'Somewhere'. Check him out here.
Hey guys just thought I would share Girl Talk has just made the latest album free to download. So click on the link bellow to be forwarded to the album. It is available either broken up into individual tracks or one seamless album. But to be clear All Day is intended to be enjoyed as a whole. Looks like someone is trying to help us deal with a case of the mondays.
Here is my second song, I will be continuing this for the next little while just so you guys know I havent forgotten about you. This is some new wicked Boys Noize, give it a listen its been a staple of the main playlist for a week or so now. See ya tomorrow

So I have been gone for a while and that seems the be the case for Tokyo and JediK but we are all back and better then ever. Just because I havent been posting doesn't mean I havent been raging, and let me tell you this track rages, hard. Let this be my first peace offering, wet the taste buds. And in the next week I will let you all hear what new shit I have been sexing on.
Heard this new track at the Alex Metric show in Toronto at Wrongbar last weekend and had to add it, even though it isn't an Alex Metric song. Martin Solveig is a DJ and producer from Paris, France and has collaborated with Dragonette on a previous single 'Boys & Girls'. Check him out here. Hello - Martin Solveig feat. Dragonette
Bonus Song: Also heard an awesome remix of the Beastie Boys by Alex Metric, the club went crazy when this hard hitting track came on. Enjoy. Beastie Boys - Sabotage (Alex Metric Re-Edit)
Possibly the best thing Ive heard from Weezer in a long time...possibly because it was recorded 5 years ago. Rivers dropped the tune just this week. Apparently Rick Rubin suggested that they cover it. Yet more proof that Rick Rubin is the fuckin man.
It's been a while and I have a lot of dope tracks that I wanted to share but it was too much for one post. So instead I've decided to split them up into two. Recently I've been listening to a lot of hip hop and rnb. So this post will cover those genres and the next will be everything else grouped together.
First up we have one of my favs., hometown hero Drizzy Drake. Off of his mixtape Young Sweet Jones 2, track number 16: Greatness. His smooth flow compliments an even smoother beat. Id like to see Jay go off on this one.
Next we have something off of Mar Variations. Netherlands vocalist Mar is apparently releasing a different variation of a popular song every month on his website marvariations.net. The one that caught my attention is his take on Lil Wayne's Single. Check it out and let it take over your speakers and genitals.
N.E.R.D. has a new song! That's good. But someone other than them produced it. That's bad. It was Daft Punk that produced it! That's good. But the song comes with a curse! That's bad. But it comes with a free frogurt! That's good. The frogurt is also cursed. That's bad. But you get your choice of toppings. That's good! The toppings contain potassium benzoate...That's bad. Anyways now that I've made my simpsons halloween reference. Here is the damn track.
Kid Cudderrrrrrrr. Switchin' up the flow and goin a little faster here really works well with this beat. It just clicks. Hope he does more like dis one hyere! (last sentence to be spoken in tone of Leo Dicaprio's fakie south african accent from Blood Diamond).
You ready for some west coast gangsta shit?! Game feat. Dre and Busta. When I heard the track I instantly liked it and you will too...if not, game will come to your home and murder you.
50!!!!!! Man I love this guy. He's so easy to hate, its part of why I like him. Get Rich or Die Tryin' is the main reason why I love the guy though. That album got worrrrnn out on my cd player. Thats right, cd player. Bumped the shit out of that album. Anyways here is a new track from mah dood that im feelin'
Ya know I couldn't go long without posting a mash-up. Hood Internet back at it again with a smooth mixdown of Andre 3000 and John Legend vs Local Natives. Seriously does Hood Internet ever not deliver?
Nicki motherfuckin' Minaj. Either you love her or hate her. Either way shes here and slaying some serious rappers on their own tracks. Here is one of hers:
After too long away from the site I've finally got around to posting some new tracks. Actually, it simply took me this long to sit down with JTokyo and have him teach me how to upload songs onto the new hosting site...but now I'm good so enjoy these:
First up is my favortie track of the summer from Ron Reesor & Dan Saenz. The duo are resident DJ's at the Playboy Mansion! so they must be doing something right. Also the artists have signed with Ultra Records, the label the brought us David Guetta, Kaskade, and Deadmau5. The track 'Everything' feat. Myah reminds me of the first time I heard Morgan Page's 'The Longest Road'. With haunting vocals and catchy hooks it will pull you right in. Everything (feat. Myah) - Ron Reesor & Dan Saenz
Speaking of Morgan Page, I saw him again this summer in Toronto at the Guvernment for a great set with alot of his new material. It reminded my about the first time I saw him and heard a great remix of Tegan & Sara's 'Alligator' and at the time I couldn't find it but now about 6 months later here it is! As I'm a huge fan you will be hearing more from him I'm sure but also check him out here Alligator (Morgan Page Remix) - Tegan & Sara
Porter Robinson is an upcoming artist from North Carolina with a hard hitting house sound infused with dubstep elements. Say My Name - Porter Robinson
The Tings Tings are back! they have a new single out called 'Hands' which is pretty awesome, look for their new album tentatively titled 'Kunst' (which apparently means 'art' in German) to be out soon - no release date has been set, their label is probably still busy convincing them to change the album title.. Hands - The Ting Tings
So apparently Kanye West is really delivering on his promise to release one free single every Friday until Christmas. This is how you re-invent your image and your music, take note. This Friday he brings you Monster featuring a few of his friends. Rick Ross, Jay-Z, Nicki Minaj, Bon Iver and Kanye on one track? Nuff' said. Oh and Nicki riiipppppppppppps this.
Hometown homie Drake is back with this RNB track. Rumored to be off his upcoming RNB mixtape he's bout to drop, this song is definitely up to par. Produced by StarGate, the Norweigian team who brought you So Sick with Ne-Yo and Irreplaceable with Beyonce. Production on this one is niiiiiice. Since it's a leak I'm just gonna stream this one. Ill post the mp3 once the mixtape drops.
Here is an old Soulwax song I stumbled upon while going through my iTunes. The things you find when your cleaning. Anyways this is just a wicked song to listen to and for being something so old im glad it has withstood the test of time. Cheers
I have been saving up all of my DiscoTech songs for a massive feature post-----and here it is people. I first heard about these guys with their remix of Radiohead's Everything in the Right Place. In fact, we even blogged about it way back in our first month. Joe Maz, Danny Daze & Gigamesh make up this trio from Miami who continue to keep birthing remixes that blow up on the blogs. Kanye West, The Police, Lykke Li, Foo Fighters, The Clash and M.I.A are just some of the variety to choose from. You've most likely heard their songs in some DJ mixes and it would come as no surprise, because that is how they've gained most of their popularity. These guys are becoming more and more sought after and I wouldn't be surprised if we start hearing more DiscoTech on mainstream radio. I've gathered this collection as a one stop place for what is out on the blogs right now. However you can grab a shitload more of their tracks and support them by visiting here and buying some. If you are a DJ you will most definitely want to check that link out.
Check out this sick video from French band Dancing Pigeons. They are my kind of electro band, lately I've been very fed up with the pop electro coming my way. It gets old fast, so when i listened to some Dancing Pigeons I found the cure to what ails me. Give them a listen, check out their Myspace and for the love of god watch the video, these visuals will impress.
...I, Im not really sure what to say about this. Incredible. Best remix of 2010 (so far) IMO. Its one of those songs that just stays with you and requires playing at a consistant rate of 3 times per hour until you are sick of it. Allure is perfect with layering on this one folks. Check it out
...is the number of tracks I have today, and days you have left to live because you just made my list!!! Just some stuff I've been listening too but have been too busy/lazy to post. Anyways, because circumstances do erase forgotten goals, here I, Jtokyo (give you these tracks). Dammit, I couldn't think of a good K word. As it is apparent that I'm losing my mind, here is the mahfuggin tracks:
First track is DJ Twixx's Mashup of Ratatat and T.I. which works surprisingly well. You might have seen this track rise to #1 on HypeM last week. Oh well here it is again!
Ok there was that whole controversy over Rick Ross' background as a corrections officer, which was supposed to stifle his career but apparently that didn't work. Why? Because Ross has been really steppin' up his game lately. Showing up on tracks and spitting killer 16's; he is back on everyone's radar. With the release of his new album Teflon Don, a couple of serious tracks have been showing up on blogs. Whether you like the guy or not you gotta respect a man willing to show his massive tatted man boobs in music videos.
Sippin' Gin and Juice. Holy crap!! Did anyone see Katy Perry's boobs perform that song at the MTV movie awards?...me either. Anyways, there has been a shit-tonne of remixes of this song and here is one from hometown boys MSTRKRFT. They be bringin the heat with this one mon'!
Number 4!!! The name of this band should sell you on their music alone. Ready for it?...Shawn Lee's Ping Pong Orchestra. Brilliant. However in case you still aren't sold, here is a track for you to check out. You'll like it trust me...I SAID YOU'LL LIKE IT!!! AND YOU WILL LIKE THAT YOU LIKE IT!!!!!!!!!
Here's one I picked up off the boys in Waterloo. Onra. This dude is incredible and this week, hopefully I will be doing a feature post on this guy. So stay tuned for that. Stop what your doing now and go and grab a joint. Its okay, Ill wait....alright now that your back, spark that thing up and throw this on.
Thanks to Kanye for making this song almost unbearable to listen too due to overplay. More thanks to Beatbot who makes it bearable again. And a big thanks to bears for just being bears.
It's been a while since we had Mr. Harris visit us at Dirty Physics. We need more Calvin, always more Calvin. Best part of this song? Awesome saxamaphone at the beginning. Reminds me of Lethal Weapon and when Im reminded of Lethal Weapon, Im reminded of this. Organs, Sax, Electro, guitars, lyrics about good times, what more could you want?
Finally we come to the last track. Big Boi of Outkast's Shutterbug...wait for it....REMIX!!!! Im trying to make it sound cooler than it is but its not working is it? Anyways Big Boi always delivers with his lyrics and this one is no exception. The beat is just a beast and it features Rick Ross too. Yes please.
