Alice Glass, you've been replaced...

Who says I can't post anything but techno? I'm really digging this duo to come out of Brooklin, New York, Sleigh Bells consists of Derek E. Miller (guitarist, songwriter, producer) and Alexis Krauss (vocals, my new wife). They released their debut album Treats in May this year which featured singles 'Tell Em' and this song:

Also today, another band with bells (Christmas must be getting to me), the Broken Bells are another duo from America featuring Brian Burton aka Danger Mouse, who was formerly mentioned on a previous DP post for his production of The Grey Album, a mashup of Jay Z's The Black Album and The Beatles self titled album (also known as The White Album). Burton teamed up with James Mercer, lead vocalist and guitarist from The Shins to release their first album in March 2010 and following it's success have announced they will record a follow up. Here's a song from their self titled album:

Covers and Mash-up Post!!!

Just been hearing a lot of covers and mash-ups recently and figured I throw them all in one post. Seriously there are some greats here that I dont think a lot of people have heard so make sure to check them all out.


To start things off is a cover of a Black Eyed Peas song. You all have heard this song and one day it will be the soundtrack to a mass murder when someone snaps from hearing it all the time. I am Noxious totally turns the song on its head and turns it into an indie anthem.

"Promiscuous With You" - Party Ben (Nelly Furtado, Timbaland vs Michael Jackson)

I heard this song while walking in the park with my earbuds in, and it instantly put me in a good mood. I would like to post the song on here but last time I put a Party Ben track on, it got removed almost instantly so instead ill just tell you how to get it. Dj Lobsterdust really hits it on the head with this sombre mix. I didn't like it the first time I heard it, but it REALLY grew on me. Maybe not a song to dance too but still amazing none the less.

If I told you that Chromeo did a cover song, you probably wouldnt guess it would be the Eagles. So they did exactly that, taking on I Cant Tell You Why. I however can tell you why this song works though. ITS FUCKING CHROMEO COVERING THE EAGLES. Enjoy this Zapp and Rogerish cover.

Bye Bye Bye - Plants And Animals

The time has come and gone and i think it is only fitting that I say farewell to Google Player, its been with us through thick and thin even though it didn't always work. We spent many nights with you my friend and now I say bye in Dirty Physics fashion, now this song isn't electro but it kicks and as you can tell by the title it fits with the occasion.
